Oh, and I’ve been meaning to mention this Matrix site. Some hits, a lot of misses, but interesting content all around. Plus, the site in question has been updating daily for some time, making it a must-visit each and every day.

Except I really, really want one… argh!

As someone who loves music, this comic hit a particularly resonate note with me. Damned if I’ll spend several hundred dollars on what amounts, really, to a portable hard drive.

Hopefully they will drop significantly in price. Until then, whatever.

Back to the dungeon…

That guy in Memento has nothing on me.

I need to remember that the post office closes at six on Saturdays. That, or I can stubbornly continue to smash my head against an immovable brickwall — in this case, a schedule of hours of operation — until the remains of my intellect run scarlet and slippery across the sidewalk, staining a picture in place as an ominous warning to all other forgetful fools.

And yes, I do feel rather foolish. Understand that this is the second Saturday in a row that I have attempted to mail something at the post office after it has closed for the evening. Yargh.

Still, all was not lost for the eve! Quite the contrary, in fact. For you see, upon returning home I found a pleasant message waiting for me, and the rest of the evening was spent luxuriating in the warm glow of my loving girlfriend.

Happy me. :)

For you, to justify my love.

Ye gods, has it ever been quiet around here today.

…with the exception of the Caul, Cex, Cruelty Campaign, Der Blutharsch, Prefuse 73 and r|a|a|n that I’ve been blasting all day whilst grading essays, that is.

Speaking of grading, I emerged from my paper prison, my one-room chrysalis, wide-eyed and blinking at approximately 4:30PM. This was promptly followed by a shower and shave, a piece of dinner, and some quality computer time.

Now, I sit. Waiting. Watching. Wanting. And, uh, blogging.

Time to hit the post office, snag some slurpee, and explore the remains of the day.

Because, up here, I feel closer to you. Distanced from those below me, I feel more at peace than perhaps I should. Though distance divorces us, I know that through a thought you can touch me.

I’m not coming off of this roof.

Pardon my drooling. DOOM3. Approximately three minutes of in-game footage, as shown at this years E3.

Ye gods.

Additionally, furthering my drooling, tonight whilst sitting down to mark papers, I rediscovered the pleasure derived from Folterwelt’s “Pink” CD-R. Released on Frozen Empire Media and limited to one hundred copies, “Pink” is described as “a disgusting, harsh and perverted pop experimental noise assault.”

Fun, fun, fun.

Long time in coming…

Monday, May 12th, 2003

Well, damn.

Has it really been that long since my last update? I blame the month-long gap between updates on the extreme gratification gleaned from my previous post. A wonderfully cathartic experience, it was, and a long time in coming.

Employment prospects for next year seem slim, but I’ve a plan. You see, I intend to return to the local university and use my year of (likely) unemployment constructively, pursuing a Masters degree in the program of my choosing. Doing so will only further my career and, in doing so, give me an immense personal satisfaction. I love learning. :)

In other news, I’ve yet to get sound working in the DOS environment erected on my secondary hard drive. This can be attributed to the fact that I’ve not bothered to track down a suitable card to function in said environment, nor have I actively tinkered with anything in DOS that demands sound — all of my tinkering, specifically in the area of level editing for an antiquated computer game, has been done to the sweet, soulful sound of music.

Music…mmm. Been listening to a lot of Caul of late, a touch o’ Bjork as provided by my loving intellectual and visceral stimulant of choice, as well as the new Set Fire to Flames set (which, oddly enough, has yet to be added to their online discography).

Things are good; July is nigh.
