/me ducks

Well, this might be fun. A bit of link-hopping late last night has left me thinking…

What the sexes really need is a little bit of misogyny and …

Hm.

Now… what, precisely, does it say about the two sites linked above when I can’t find commensurately misandristic websites? Kinda makes you wonder.

Bear in mind, the two sites i link here are extremes, and I’m not professing agreement across the board with them at all. The first one, to NiceGuy’s page, I have to admit i’ve seen a lot of those behaviours before. And the media portrayal of men he points out is pretty much bang-on: Men in the media these days are mostly emasculated and/or moronic.

That being said, mostly what’s funny is the sheer amount of bile being spewed. It’s all well and good to get a feeling that you’re a bit hard done by. But this guy… There’s literally hours of material here.

Before someone crucifies me, though…

It’s funny. Laugh.

Update

On reflection, this would seem to be a good comment, wouldn’t it?

I only read the first link because my attention span is too short right now to read everything (thank you very much, studying for stats!) and I have to say I agree with pretty much everything he says. I’m going to expand American into North American and agree that our society has done a fine job of churning out the most vain and (at the same time!) self-conscious women probably ever. I’ve worked with too many women who complain about how they look hideous without makeup, I’ve seen too many women in the UofA bathrooms putting on their makeup, I’ve heard too much bitching about how men suck, about how other women are bitches, etc, etc, etc. Most of the women I know personally are not really like that, if at all, probably because I find it intolerable to be around women who act like that. Whose brilliant idea was it that, in order to eliminate sexism, we should be sexist towards men? Yes, that goes over really well. Throughout all of history, other groups have always responded brilliantly to disrespect and ignorance. So there’s absolutely no reason it shouldn’t work now. It obviously worked for things like the Crusades! Down with men! I’m not saying I don’t laugh at the occasional joke, but only if told in true jest and by someone I know doesn’t hold a negative opinion of men just because they happen to be the opposite sex. Men who do that to women make me sick; women who do it to men make me sick.

I wish this guy a lot of luck in finding a non-American woman.

just a small comment not totally related, but why is everyone surprised at vanity and self conciousness coming together? I don’t ever see one without the other.

I guess they could both be lumped together under “self-absorption”.
